Hockey Bedding

I have meet a lot of great people over the 11 years of my son playing hockey.  As us hockey parents know, when your kids play hockey, it becomes a huge part of your life.  Sitting at the arena during cold practices, getting the skates sharpened, sometimes twice a week and then there are the games, that are so much fun!  Well during all of this, you really get to know some great people. 

My son is in his junior year playing varsity hockey-wow, what a difference from the good old days of pee-wee hockey.  High school hockey is all about playing the best on the team, while many of the players just sit and watch, game after game, because the coach doesn't feel they are good enough to play.  Gone are the days of making sure every player gets the same amount of ice time.  Feelings get hurt, both players and parents, and you have now entered the "real world" of high school sports. 

My son has played many sports over the years, and I have to say hockey is the favorite in our house, by far!  I have some great hockey bedding for boys that I just love, probably because I just so enjoy the game of hockey and the joy that it has brought to my sons life over the years.  I hope you can enjoy this hockey bedding set as much as we have!

New Bedding Sets

With Thanksgiving a day away, I thought I should write about my next color today.  I don't go out shopping on black Friday, but thought I would get this next color posted before the holiday.  I added some really nice comforter sets and duvet cover sets to my website.  I am going to talk about the color gray today, because one of the duvet cover sets that I added, has a white background and gray elm leafs.  It will look stunning in any bedroom!

Gray can be a very active color and Native Americans associate the color gray with friendship. Gray is also the symbol for security,  dependability and maturity. Good morning everyone!  Well this is going to be a short work week for many, with Thanksgiving just days away.  With the internet so popular now a days, I often wonder how many people still get up at the crack of dawn on black Friday, to find deals.  I have to say, I was never one of those people to stand in long lines to save a buck or two.  I am one to go shopping on days that aren't so popular, and beat the crowd, so to speak.  If you are like me, maybe sitting in front of the computer, looking for deals is more your speed.

The Meaning of a Green Bedding Set

Well, I am a little late in talking about my next color.  I live in Connecticut, where there has been no power, heat or internet.  All I have seen over the last 5 days is l--o--n--g gas lines, some 40 cars deep!  Who would have thought that first, we would have a snow storm the end of October, and secondly, that 5 days after the storm, there would still be thousands and thousands of people still without power.  The rumor is that 99% of people will have their power back by midnight on Sunday, will see!
I chose to talk about the color green today, which represents the color of our natural surroundings.  Green is considered the color of peace and ecology.  Since I have been looking at white snow, which in my opinion, is too early to be looking at in October, I would like to focus on seeing green outside again!  Did you know that green occupies more space in the spectrum visible to the human eye than most colors, and is second only to blue as a favorite color.  Green is the pervasive color in the natural world, making it an ideal backdrop in interior design, because we are so used to seeing it all around us.  The natural greens, from lime green to forest, are seen as refreshing and tranquil, with a natural balance of cool and warm (yellow and blue) undertones.

Black Bedding Set And Its True Meaning

Did you know that black is not a color, it is the absence of all color. When people speak of opposites, it is usually in terms of black and white. How many people do you know that just think in terms of black and white, with no middle ground?  I don't know about you, but people that think only in those terms can be very difficult, at times.  Have you ever been in a debate with someone that cannot see a common middle ground? Black, and its opposite white, represent polarities. On a positive note, black is seen as a restful emptiness into which anything may emerge and disappear once again. What Size is Your Bed Linen?

What are Sateen Sheets?

Have you ever wondered what exactly sateen sheets are?  Well, hopefully I can answer that for you.  Sateen sheets are not about a certain thread count, but about the weaving process used to create the sheets.  The weaving pattern is one thread down and four threads up.  More threads are placed on the top side of the weave, that created the sheets, which gives it a very luxurious feeling.  Sateen looks very much like stain with its silky feel and shiny appearance.  Satin sheets tend to crawl off the mattress and have a very slippery feeling, whereas sateen sheets do not have either.  Sateen sheets come in either one hundred percent cotton or a cotton/polyester blend.  The one hundred percent cotton sateen sheets are more popular.  Sateen sheets are not as durable as other weaves, but they are extremely soft and comfortable.

The pros and cons of cotton sheets vs poly/cotton sheets

Do you ever wonder what kind of sheets you would like best?  Do you want 100% cotton sheets or a cotton and polyester blend, and do you know what the difference is?  There are pros and cons to both, like most things in life.  100% cotton sheets are crisp and cool feeling, but do not have that wrinkle free look like the cotton and polyester blend sheets.  The cotton and polyester blend sheets are also very soft to the touch, but they will pill over time, whereas the 100% cotton sheets will not pill, as long as the thread count is at least 180, and you care for them properly.  So, you just have to decide what is most important to you when looking for the perfect sheet!

Organizing Washing Instructions

Certain bedding set fabrics require different care instructions.  It is important to follow these instructions, so that you can get the most out of your bed linens.  The best thing to do is to remove the labels from your linens.  Attach the labels to a sheet of paper, along with the description of which label goes to which bedding linen.  This sheet of instructions can be placed in either the laundry room or linen closet, so that you can answer any fabric care questions that may arise.  A little laundry organization can go a long way and make your linens last longer:)
